BIOGRAPHY - Dr. James Anderson Jr. MD

Dr. Anderson was born and raised in a small town in Western Massachusetts called Agawam. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. While at Wesleyan, Dr. Anderson was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society for outstanding academic achievement. He then travelled south to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. From there it was off to Houston and Baylor College of Medicine where he conducted his General Surgery residency training, as well as meeting his wife, Maria. Dr. Anderson then sought advanced residencies in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery at Carolinas Heart Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. Once his extensive training was complete in 2004, Dr. Anderson moved to Fort Worth where he has since been in private practice. 


Dr. Anderson is triple board certified in Cardiothoracic, Vascular and General Surgery. His practice focuses on diseases of the heart, lung, blood vessels, esophagus and chest wall. He also has a particular interest in minimally invasive and endovascular procedures. Dr. Anderson’s outstanding surgical accomplishments were recognized by his peers in 2010 and 2011 when he was named a Top Doctor in Fort Worth Magazine. 


In spite of his professional accomplishments and passion for patient care, Dr. Anderson takes greatest personal pride in being known as a devoted husband and loving father. Dr. and Mrs. Anderson have been blessed with two wonderful girls, Isabella and Vanessa. In addition to enjoying family time, Dr. Anderson’s hobbies include culinary arts, travel, and sports.
